Events at Petersburg Area Art League (PAAL) is the newest wedding & event venue located in charming Old Towne Petersburg.  PAAL is divided into 3 major areas for events: The Main & Member Galleries (Downstairs), The Upstairs Gallery &  The Art Park, beautifully landscaped and perfect for wedding ceremonies, receptions and other outdoor events.  All rentals come with tables, chairs, and standard polyester table cloths.  We also offer Day of Coordination/ Wedding Planning, Design/Decorating, Décor & Equipment Rentals, Catering, Photography, DJ, Floral & Baking Services!

Events at Petersburg Area Art League is professionally managed by   EVENT DECOR GALORE (formerly  My Elegant Occasion) is a multi facet event rental company that services the Tri -Cities, Richmond City & surrounding counties in Virginia.  Offering the major services needed when having an event, its ONE STOP SHOPPING for any event, large or small!  In addition to managing the PAAL  we also offer event décor rentals and the following services:

Venue Rental Options

Main & Members Gallery (Downstairs) - Starting at $1250.00 includes tables, chairs, table linens and setup/breakdown of tables & chairs. up to 100 guests

Upper Gallery (Upstairs) - Starting at $1250.00 includes; tables, chairs table linens and setup/breakdown of table & chairs. up to 120 guests

Art Park (Outside Garden Area) - Starting at $500 for wedding ceremonies & starting at $3000 for outdoor events up to 140 guests

Bridal Suite - an additional $200

My favorite time of the year is autumn. It just so happened that my baby shower was planned for the month of October! I called Senithia Martin because I had had the pleasure of seeing some of her decorations from other events. Since I had very specific requests for my baby shower (autumn theme with the classy incorporation of pink), I knew she would be perfect! And she didn't disappoint! She thought of things I never would have. All of my guests LOVED my decor, especially the pink pumpkins decorated to look like little babies intertwined into the fall leaves and flowers. Senithia created a candy table that was well put together and that fit with the theme. She even did edible, fall favors for my guests! Senithia was easy to communicate with, responsive, creative and innovative. It was easy to see that this is not only her passion but her gift as well. I used Senithia of My Elegant Occasion to help plan and coordinate my mothers surprise 60th birthday celebration. She was absolutely amazing!!!!!! She helped me find a venue, caterer, DJ, photographer, invitations, and she decorated the whole banquet space. Senithia hand made all the center pieces, flower arrangements, and all the other decorations. Everything was beautiful. She made my vision for my moms party come to reality. Not to mention she alleviated all my stress and concerns. Senithia was was very professional, easy to work with, and responsive to all my questions and concerns. I would use her again.....hopefully for a wedding :)

Mrs. Martin planned and decorated for my bridal shower, wedding ceremony, and reception with only less than 4 months notice. Any idea you have she can take it and create it into something even more beautiful than you ever imagined. She takes her precious time out of being a wife, mother, and working woman to make your day special. I am very grateful for her and my husband and I will never forget our special day because of her. Truly a blessing!

5 stars!!! The owner's eye for detail is flawless. Her decor and coordination of our event surpassed our expectations of excellence. Her care for every detail was matched with the her years of experience. We were able to enjoy our event without one worry. Her company set an atmosphere of beauty and elegance that just took my breath away, to see how she transformed the venue.

My Elegant Occasion provided excellent service coordinating all aspects of the Hollywood Nights event for Virginia Union University's Homecoming at the Hofheimer building last weekend. The decor was breathtaking, the food was delicious and the alumni had a great time. Kudos to Senithia Martin and her staff!
