Have Your Dream Wedding at our 309-year-old Family Farm
Thornbury Farm was founded in 1709 and is the site of the Battle of Brandywine, the largest battle of the entire American Revolution. Located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, Thornbury Farm is the perfect spot for every couple's special day.
Facilities and Capacity
We have three different venue spaces that can be used for weddings both large and small. The large barn holds our 1926 pipe organ. This room can be set-up with tables and chairs or an open floor plan depending on the couple's needs. The covered patio features a working bread oven, stunning views of the fields, and a timber-framed chapel that is great for ceremonies and entertainment. The riding ring can fit a tent perfect for large weddings.
Venue Uses - Thornbury Farm
This historic farm from 1709 has the charm you are looking for!
We recommend a tour of the property to see which venue, we have, will work best.
We have several options. We have hosted crowds over 8,000. We can be very creative and have many options call for details. April to Dec are great times for most of our venues. Our event rang from 150-200 quests. we are easy to find on main roads and near many hotels.
, we have great indoor and outdoor areas and covered pergola. We can work with any budget and design.

I had my wedding at Thornbury Farm in October 2016. Randall could not be a nicer human being. He was incredibly laid back and was open to lots of ideas and plans on our end. We had a cocktail hour across the street with a three piece band (outside the farm stand) and then we had a large rented canopy tent - which we also rented "walls" for due to the weather - we had this facing the barn and along side the cornstalks. It was truly beautiful - and despite some rainfall - we had a beautiful day! Our ceremony was originally planned for outside, but when the rain had other plans, we moved it all inside our tent and the farm staff were awesome with making this happen quickly. Randall also procured some bails of hay for some seating ambiance during the ceremony and we collected scraps of fabric to lay over them. Our decor was pretty simple - we rented tables, table clothes, chairs, napkins, and glassware. We had compostable plates/forks/knives for our meal. We rented port-a-potties (i think three of them) if you can get accessible potties - those were much roomier for the bride in her dress. :) We rented a dance floor for inside the tent and we also rented school buses to take people from the hotel (Great Valley Sheraton) to the farm. Highly recommend this venue! I would also recommend hiring a wedding planner to help with the planning leading up to and the day of the wedding - and definitely get referrals from past clients for the wedding planner!
