What is the meaning of "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue"? This tradition comes from an Old English rhyme and the four objects that the bride adds to her wedding attire or carries with her on the big day, are just good luck charms.  Don't stress too much about them- they are the little tokens of love your mother, sister, other relatives. and attendants will give you at the eleventh hour (although you can give them to yourself too).  Something old represents continuity; something new offers optimism for the future; something borrowed symbolizes borrowed happiness; something blue stands for purity, love, and fidelity; and a sixpence in your shoe is a wish for good fortune, although this remains primarily a British custom.  At FOAT Bridal, we like to take Heirloom gowns and transform them into a one of a kind creation that fits the vision (and personality) of your wedding day.  The dress doesn't have to be to your liking or even fit.  That's our job.  We work together to create something beautiful and meaningful that incorporates pieces of others to walk with you down the aisle.

Perhaps you love this concept, but already have your dress.  Consider adding a hair piece, bolero, or even a sash made from an heirloom (or anything, rather, that has meaning to you).  Or sometimes there is the problem of already settling on a dress that just for one reason or another isn't quite matching your vision for your wedding day.  We can help spruce this up.

We also carry very limited in house gowns- all eco friendly that keeps in line with our mission and love of the Slow Fashion movement, of which we are part of: https://www.notjustalabel.com/editorial/slow-fashion-movement

We look forward to meeting you!

Foat Bridal made a beautiful hairpiece for my wedding from the lace overlay of my mom's wedding dress. It is one of my favorite things from my wedding. I love that I was able to wear 'something old' from my mom on my wedding day. I trusted Kaja and Zoe to make whatever they wanted for my hairpiece and it could not have been more perfect. I would recommend Foat Bridal to anyone! I love their work.

FOAT Bridal was a perfect solution for my wedding dress. With a desire to transform a sentimentally kept old/beat-up wedding dress into my simple, stunning, yet significant modern wedding dress, the FOAT women worked a miracle. I loved every part of the process in working with them. They listened to my ideas and tastes, they communicated progress very clearly, and they delivered a remarkable dress. I am forever grateful.

Foat Bridal was able to take lace from my mother's wedding dress, bring it back to it's original color, and make a one of a kind head piece for me to wear that coordinated with my dress. I trusted their creativity to deliver a memorable keepsake!
