This luxe winter wedding took place at the Corcoran Gallery of Arts in Washington, DC. The gallery is known for its gorgeous portraits and sculptures and the bride fell in the love with the art and architecture of the building. It proved to be the perfect location for these high school sweethearts to tie the knot.
The expert planners at RAE Affairs had one year to plan this wedding. “There were no major challenges with the wedding. Both the bride and groom knew what they wanted and their families were very supportive as well. All the vendors were amazing, which is why I can’t stress enough as a planner the importance of having professional and reliable vendors,” said the wedding planner Shile.
Blue, silver and white are the perfect colors to capture the icy winter theme. The ceremony was decorated with silver branches and blue and white flowers.
Blue uplighting was used throughout the reception venue and each table was decorated with white and silver décor. “The décor and the brides dress were two of my favorite aspects. She really wanted her theme reflected in her décor without being over the top and this was definitely achieved,” said Shile.
The couple topped off their wedding with a dessert table filled with yummy treats as well as a five tier cake decorated with blue and silver details.
“Plan early, to get the best of vendors and most especially the location of your dreams you have to plan ahead. Getting married in DC is very popular so a lot of beautiful DC venues get booked early, this is why it is important to plan ahead of time to get all the elements you desire in your venue. I also suggest to brides to work with a planner because you have peace of mind not only knowing everything is taken care of but also with peace of mind that the planner also has a wealth of experience and vendor relationships that will make sure your wedding is a beautiful success,” said Shile.
