This elegant spring wedding took place at the El Chorro Lodge in Paradise Valley, Arizona. The lodge boasts beautiful grounds for outdoor weddings and indoor halls if the weather doesn’t behave! The bride enlisted the help of her friend Susie from Everything Susie to help plan her dream wedding. “The bride lived in Vegas and I have known her since childhood and was happy to go to her but she said – I want to go right where my planner resides and has all her wonderful vendors plus who doesn’t love Scottsdale, Arizona in the springtime,” said Susie.
They had a little over a year to plan the wedding, which is the ideal amount of time according to Susie. “My style of planning is to create special occasions all along the way rather than a marathon of stressful appointments. We celebrated each and every vendor experience as a day of fun without pressure,” said Susie.
While the wedding day went smoothly, the planning wasn’t without its hiccups. Difference of opinion between generations is common during wedding planning but Susie insists it can be solved. “Mother and bride, while of course love each other deeply, had quite different visions and priorities regarding traditions and visions. So the challenge is always in hearing beyond emotions and finding a grand solution which requires listening negotiating and connecting hearts always on the forefront as, remember, I’m all about LOVE,” said Susie.
“The location is one of my all-time favorites with breathtaking views, spectacular grounds, amazing staff and fabulous Chef. To top it off having the journey with a dear family and a beautiful bride I have watched grow up and now be a special part of her day and life was a gift I will forever cherish,” said Susie.
While the ceremony was held indoors, the reception was held outside in the beautiful grounds of the El Chorro Lodge. Susie used a neutral color palette of white with hints of blush for the décor.
The couple had a private sweetheart table at the reception decorated with a gorgeous floral table runner and glitter Mr. and Mrs. banner. As the night came to a close, all the guests gathered around with sparklers to give the newlyweds a grand sendoff.
”Always have a planner, whether it be for the entire journey, a day of or just to create a plan and vendor recommendations because no matter how much time you have and how capable you think you are a wedding planner has invaluable experience knowledge and resources. Most important advice I will always give is not to lose sight about why you are having a wedding so be kind to each other all along the way – after all this is about LOVE,” said Susie.
