Mary and Jamaal’s wedding was beautiful, colorful and filled with amazing guests! The couple had met while in Africa helping teach children, and fell head over heels immediately. From this point they had a long distance relationship traveling from the East Bay to Canada to visit each other until they eventually decided to move to Thailand and teach together. From Thailand they traveled the world together meeting all kind of amazing people and friends, who in return came to the wedding to bask in the glory of their love.
The couple was far from boring, and had such a great attitude it was infectious! The bridesmaids wore traditional African print dresses to honor Jamaal’s heritage, and the groomsmen all had authentic Thai dress shirts to honor Mary’s. The bride had two dresses made for her while they lived in Thailand, a more traditional white and gold embroidered gown, and then changed into a glistening gold sequin dress for the after party! The groom made his own suit, resembling the movie “Coming to America” which included a velvet jacket, hand stitched epaulets and a styled cane to help with his recent foot injury.
The party went all night, and rather than the typical toasts, they were welcomed into marriage with lip sync’s (inspired by Jimmy Fallon’s), African folk songs, and a flash mob dance.
The colors were beautiful, and the couple was fantastic, we hope you enjoy this wedding as much as we did!
