The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder, that can only mean one thing: winter is coming! While spring and summer are the most common seasons to get married in, some people do actually get married in winter. We love many aspects of the season, like playing in the snow, roasting marshmallows and cozying up in a warm coat. If you love winter, and are as inspired by the movie Frozen as we are, then you will love these tips for incorporating winter into your wedding.
Take your wedding photos outside. Fields of fresh snow can look so gorgeous and what better way to capture the essence of the season than to be outdoors?
After your wedding photos are done, head back inside where it’s warm! While you are in the warm indoors you can still draw inspiration from the icy snow. Use snowflake motifs in everything from the lighting to the escort cards. Also, colors like white and red really evoke the feeling of a winter wonderland.
For wintery wedding décor we kind of love the idea of using Christmas ornaments. You can fill a glass jar with them and use it as a centerpiece or have them hanging from the ceiling throughout the venue. If you aren’t into the idea of having a Christmas wedding then opt for a snowflake motif in your centerpieces. Since most flowers don’t bloom in winter, use bare branches with white glitter to make them look like they are fresh out of the snow.
Don’t forget about the wedding favors! We love these chocolate and white gift boxes and we think your guests will too!
