Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.

You are looking for a professional wedding photographer. I am available and interested.

I understand how important your wedding photography can be. Once the celebrating is done, what remain are memories. And, you want them preserved in images that will allow you to relive the day.

My approach is artistic, creative, photojournalistic - unobtrusively capturing the natural beauty and emotion of the day. My goal is to present your wedding story as a photographic work of art. I’m particularly fond of casual intimate weddings in natural outdoor settings. Examples of my work can be seen on my website at www.nasbephoto.com.

I work deliberately to capture great images. So, quality counts more than quantity. Nonetheless, I typically shoot 60+ images per hour of coverage; after editing, this typically results in about 30+ images per hour. So, for a full day (ten hours), there would be about 300+ great images available. Of those, some 50 to 150 might be selected to create a complete story of your day (for example, in an album or coffee table book).

Virtually everyone getting married has a budget. I will do my best to help you stay within yours. My pricing is by the hour, so you need to decide how many hours of continuous coverage you want from start to finish. My coverage rates vary by month. You can download a copy of my wedding photography pricing guide from my website (go to www.nasbephoto.com, then click on "guide" at the top of the screen).

If you’re on a particularly tight budget, please call me to discuss what could be done.

Before the wedding, I will ask you for details about all aspects of the wedding, from overall theme to wedding party, families, guests, coordinator, officiant, dress, shoes, hair, makeup, jewelry, rings, heirlooms, traditions, flowers, venues, invitations, seating charts, name tags, programs, table decorations, food, entertainment, etc. You can tell me about what matters most to you and I'll keep it in mind as I'm photographing your day.

My wedding-day photography typically includes:

- full digital photography coverage of your wedding day for whatever period you select.

- processing, editing, and manually adjustment of images by the photographer for exposure, color, white balance, contrast, sharpness.

- CD or thumb drive with high-resolution images (photographer-selects).

- license for personal use -- to share with friends and family, and to print yourself or have printed wherever you choose; photographer retains copyright and rights for all other uses.

Serving Virginia, Washington DC, the mid-Atlantic region, Denver, and destinations beyond, I am happy to travel almost anywhere to photograph your wedding.

I look forward to the possibility of being your wedding photographer.

Sincerely yours,

rod nasbe

I never could have imagined how amazing my wedding photos would be. I had a number of friends, family, and colleagues, who were not with us for the celebrations tell me that the photos were so beautiful that they cried when they saw them. Within days, we were able to see and share some of the highlights. Rod is incredibly diligent, passionate, and thoughtful. However, his talent and tact make it seem effortless. He puts everyone at ease and subtly captures the best of everyone in the most special moments - even with a bride that is camera shy on most days! My wedding photos, and the story that they tell from such a magical day, are a treasure and I will forever be grateful to Rod. NMF

We can't really express how grateful we are for everything you did to make our wedding photos so spectacular. Your preparation, care, thoughtfulness, hard work all day during the event, and the hours and hours of processing and sorting were truly above and beyond. Thank you so much. We wouldn't have wanted anyone else behind the camera, and you knocked it out of the park.

As a fine art wedding photojournalist, I use digital photography and natural light to create elegant and comelling portraits of brides, grooms, their families, and their friends.

My vision is to create portraits that stand alone as individual works of art and that form a complete visual story of the relationships and emotions of your wedding day.

What I do is visual storytelling - taking a photojournalistic approach to quickly, quietly, and unobtrusively capture the beauty and emotion of spontaneous real life moments, settings, and details. As a result, I love to shoot people and landscapes and architecture. These elements come together in weddings. I particularly appreciate those that take place in natural, rustic, casual settings (vineyards, farms, barns, parks) or in picturesque landscapes and distant destinations.

Samples of my work can be seen on my website, at www.nasbephoto.com. Some favorites from my work and from personal projects and interests are posted on my blog at blog.nasbephoto.com.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many photographers do you provide?
As a photojournalist, I believe better images are created when the photographer works alone. Second shooters and assistants tend to be intrusive and can change the normal flow of events just by their presence. Shooting alone, I am better able to put myself at the right place at the right time to capture special moments as they occur and to blend in. This results in more authentic images of the real life relationships and emotions of the day.
What style of photography do you practice?
Contemporary, Portraiture, Photojournalism
What is included in your packages?
I recognize that budget is a serious consideration in everyone's wedding planning. My wedding photography pricing allows you to get exactly what you need. Instead of pre-set packages, my fee is based on hourly rates for wedding-day coverage and for non-wedding-day coverage, plus travel expenses. You will get a CD with edited select high-resolution images - processed and manually adjusted by the photographer for exposure, color, white balance, contrast, sharpness - and sized for sharing on the web and printing. I work deliberately to capture great images. So, quality counts more than quantity. Nonetheless, I typically shoot an average of 60 (or more) images per hour of coverage; after editing, this typically results in about 30 (or more) images per hour. So, for a full day (ten hours), there would be about 300 (or more) images available. Of those, some 50 to 150 would create a complete story of your day.
What format are the proofs offered in?
Images are provided online for friends and family to view and order prints, if they desire. Digital images are available for purchases as low-, med- or hi-resolution jpegs.
Are images available for viewing online?
yes
Do you charge for travel expenses? How much?
Travel expenses can include mileage, flights, hotel, car, food, incidentals, where applicable. To minimize the risk of last minute travel disruptions, I prefer to spend the night before the wedding as close as possible to the first shoot location. For very long wedding day coverage, wedding night accommodations might also be required. For destination weddings, two nights before the wedding would be typical - arrive on thursday, scout the local area and venues and attend the rehearsal on friday, shoot the wedding on saturday, and depart on sunday. Where expenses are involved, they will be included in the fee quoted; i will make my own travel arrangements.
