The Recessionals Jazz Band plays traditional jazz and New York Swing in the style of Louis Armstrong, Jack Teagarden, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Sidney Bechet, Louis Prima, Bobby Hackett, and other popular jazz musicians that performed in the first half of the 1900's. We have been busy performing in New York City where we began and have also recorded a great album called Go For Broke. 

in 2011 we performed at The Blue Note in New York City, were pictured in the New York Times playing at a secret Bastille Day party called The Shanghai Mermaid, and have been earning fans playing many of the jazz clubs in downtown Manhattan. A highlight for us included a performance at Louis Armstrong's House in Corona, Queens, NYC in summer of 2010.
